we clinched a high end silver [86.14%] for this year's SIBF! :D
a round of applause for your hardwork and not forgetting our dearest alumnis!
they're hazmi, loy and david :)

next up will be ensemble concert in october.
we'll discuss about this very soon.

also, we're left with two more band practices before we break for exams.
both days will be on thursday, 6.30pm.
there won't be any monday practices for the time being.

DEAR CLARINETISTS!

i've changed the whole section blogskin, like finally!
i hope you guys can provide some suggestions/feedback about that :)

anyways, even though the SIBF pieces ain't finalised yet, we'll start our own sectionals from next saturday, 15th May onwards. starts at 10am and ends around 12 or 1pm depending on our progress.

also, as mentioned in the latest email i've sent out, i'm still compiling the player list and probably send out to y'all by tomorrow.

P/S. if you've any ideas for section outing to be held at, feel free to tag your responses here!

hey guys! we've just started a brand new semester with the year1s joining NP.
there're whelming responses we got from CCA Fiesta.
i hope that many new faces coming for tune-in this saturday will cont' joining us for upcoming band events and such :D

CONCERT'S OVER YAW~

How was it? Had fun? Hope you guys did. Thank you so much for all the hardwork and commitments. Sorry for all the demands I made prior to concert. I just want to congratulate Mr. Fauzi on his awesome solo on Highlights from 'Chess' and Miss Shuning for taking on 1st (though she didn't really have a choice. xD) for some (4/9 -.-) of the pieces. Not to forget Mr. Joseph for bravely taking up 1st for The Hounds of Spring, even though it was difficult.
Also, I want to thank all the guest players and alumni (although I know none of them will be reading this blog), namely Hazmi, David, Chiang Chin, Loy(happy belated birthday!), and last but definitely not least, Elsie. Thank you all for helping out and

Awesome job, everyone!!! =D

This'll be Fauzi's last concert. Omgosh we'll miss you. =( Thanks for all the laughter and random moments you've brought to the section. We won't forget you. :) Come back often and help out yeahs :) GO MISTER CHESS! xD

Concert's over now, let's look forward to a great year (I hope) ahead! =) SOO many events coming up! =D and exams're just around the corner. I hope you guys are prepared, or at least in the midst of preparation. ;)

Soon, the seniors'll be busy with attachment and FYPs so you guys'll have to step up and guide the coming batch of clarinetists, yeahs. I want to see ALL of you take up AT LEAST 1 or 2 first clar part. No more 'lazy' or whatever nonsense. Especially Miss Jiahuan. Mr. Tan even said you have to be a soloist for the upcoming concert -.- what more do you want? Don't worry. With determination, and practice, you'll make it :) If possible, rotate the parts so that all of you have a feel of playing all the parts. Guide the juniors as well. Get one or two to take up the higher clarinet, and the stronger ones to support the lower clarinets. =) I'll be rotating too, don't worry. Rotating between 2nd and 3rd. wahaha. xD

greetings, humans of the world. how's life? how was your exams?? funn?? mine was.... not.. =(

ohh wells... that marks the end of Apr '09 Semester of AY 09/10 =D aka HOLIDAYS!!! until October, that is.. rahh~ and when it's holidays, we have more time to focus on non-academic things, e.g. BAND!! i know you miss band.. i know you miss me more.. awww shucks. xD i miss you too.. yayy! ok whatever.

please be reminded that band practice resumes this Thursday, 3rd September. report at 6pm at Warehouse@71(that's what i call it now) whoever cannot make it, will be late, or has to leave early, please inform me latest by 5.30pm, etc etc etc.. ahh.. you should understand what i'm trying to convey.. hehz.

as i have mentioned earlier, our ensemble performance has been postponed to 21 july. there will be a rehearsal on 20 july at 4 pm in the convention centre, so please report to the NEW clubhouse by 3.30pm latest. on the actual day, 21 july, our performance will be at 3.30 pm.

please be reminded that THERE IS SECTIONALS THIS THURSDAY, 16 JULY AT 6 PM. PLEASE DO COME AS IT'S OUR FINAL OWNSELF PRACT BEFORE THE ENSEMBLE REHEARSAL. WE HAVE TO GET OUR ACT GLUED TOGETHER!

our efforts and hardworks have finally paid off. that was an uber awesome concert. kudos to all of you.

anyways, i just wanna thank you all for all your hardwork and dedication and commitment. sorry if i've been demanding and such to all/any of you but trust me when i say i really am so proud of all of you. WE MADE IT THROUGH! well, 1 down, 2 more events to go for this year! =D

Hello humans!

How's life?

Sorry for being so last minute. Anyways, the ensemble performance has been postponed to 21st July, Tuesday, 3pm at Convention Centre. Rehearsal will be on the 20th of July. =D So you guys can chillax and focus solely on the concert. After the concert, we will start chiong-ing for the ensemble performance, yeahs. =)

JIAYOUS PEOPLE! =D but please manage your time well. don't focus so much on band that you neglect your studies and health. I don't want any failures, arh. If we hear anyone failing any modules, we will kick you out of band until your results get better. =D

HELLO~ so how'd you find the camp? educational? fruitful? fun? boring? disorganised? confusing? redundant? just shoot! =D

anyways, just a reminder: please listen to recordings of the concert pieces whilst studying your scores. it's the best way to study. and practice your ensemble pieces whenever you can.

by the way, there is an NAQ rehearsal on Tuesday, 30th June 2009 4pm at Convention Centre. sorry i can't go with you guys. just know that i will be giving you moral and emotional support from my LT. >.<
